JC PENNEY ALLEY CONVERSION TO UNDERGROUND
Project consisted
of the conversion to underground of the primary & secondary
electrical distribution lines in “JC Penney Alley”. All overhead
utilities in this congested downtown alley were converted to
underground and the site was restored with stamped asphalt, decorative
railings, and plantings. All secondary conductors were routed
through custom manholes to facilitate future service upgrades.
All three-phase electrical services were converted to 120/208V and all
services were converted to underground.
Engineering services included:
• Inventory of all electrical equipment including
customer owned for voltage conversions
• Underground system design
• Lighting design
• Material procurement
• Communication utility coordination
• Construction staking
• Construction inspection
• Customer outage coordination
• Assistance with site restoration
